To steam cauliflower, start by cutting off the leaves and stems and separating the individual florets. Then, bring 2 inches of water to a boil in a large pot. Once the water starts boiling, place a steamer basket in the pot so that the bottom doesn’t touch the water. Next, add the cauliflower florets to the basket and let them cook covered for 5-13 minutes. Once the flowers are soft but not mushy, they are done.
